Thai Airways’ Royal Silk business class flies wide-bodies into Suvarnabhumi from Europe’s hubs. The one-stop competition is ferocious: Qatar via Doha, Emirates via Dubai, Turkish via Istanbul and the Chinese carriers via their hubs all sell Bangkok business hard, and the Chinese one-stops are often the outright cheapest flat beds on the market.

Regional business within Southeast Asia (Bangkok Airways, Thai) is a recliner-and-lounge product — pleasant, but the flat bed is on the long-haul leg.

Suvarnabhumi (BKK) handles full-service and long-haul flights; Don Mueang (DMK) is the low-cost field. They are on opposite sides of the city — check which one your onward domestic hop leaves from before booking a tight same-day connection.

Immigration queues at BKK can be long; business fast-track stickers are honoured and worth using.

When to book, and for how much

November–February is peak and priced like it; May–October (the green season) sells the same seat for dramatically less.

Bangkok is a strong candidate for the economy-out, business-home split: buy the flat bed for the overnight return leg.
